This workshop is the fourth event of a series of workshops that started at Technical University of Braunschweig in 1993. It was continued in Munich in 1994 and was held at Technical University of Darmstadt in 1995.
Organizer of this workshop is Research Com-mittee 1.2 "Inference Systems"
(Fachausschuß 1.2 "Inferenzsysteme") of German Society of Computer Science (Gesellschaft für Informatik e. V.) supported by Research Center "Sensors/Actuators" (Forschungsschwerpunkt "Sensorik/Aktorik") of Northrhine-Westfalia (Nordrhein-Westfalen) at University of Paderborn, Department Soest.
Program
The scientific program includes invited plenary talks and the presentation of submitted contributions as talk or poster. The aim is to give an overview of the state of the art in research and development of fuzzy systems and artificial neural networks. Another aim is to highlight applications of these methods and to forge innovative links between theory and application by means of creative discussions.
Submission of Contributions
The contributions shall deal with theory and practice - in particular applications and industrial realizations - of fuzzy logic, neural networks and evolutionary algorithms. Particularly appreciated are contributions of hybrid systems that combine advantages of various methods efficiently and contributions dealing with special hard- and software.
The deadlines are as follows:
August 30, 1996:
submission of abstracts (3 to 4 pages DIN A4)
October 1996:
notification of acceptance or rejection
November 29, 1996:
final camera-ready manuscripts (up to 8 pages)
Proceedings
The proceedings will include all contributions that have been accepted as talk or poster. Furthermore it is planned to publish selected papers in a scientific journal.
